Motricity Community

Community Affairs Mission:

At Motricity, we strive to enrich the local communities of Motricity through combinations of employee volunteerism, in-kind donations, and financial and technological support. Motricity's Community Affairs program is focused primarily on improving education, and we work with local and national organizations to:

  • Integrate technology into the education process,
  • Strengthen an environment that encourages student retention, and
  • Offer an expansion of career opportunities.

Community Affairs Partners:

Communities in Schools Communities in Schools

Communities In Schools is anchor to the nation's leading community-based organization helping young people stay in school and prepare for life. Each year, more than two million young people in 27 states and the District of Columbia have access to services through Communities In Schools.

Partnering with CIS of Durham, Motricity volunteers have been very active in the local community. In what was the pilot program for literacy tutoring, a team of Motricity volunteers visited local Club Boulevard Elementary School to read with 4th grade students. Of the students tutored:

  • 90 percent increased their scores on end-of-grade exams
  • 50 percent increased their reading achievement level
  • 70 percent met or exceeded the reading level qualifications for their grade
  • Student growth in reading levels had increased 30 percent more than the overall school levels
